Scriptwriter
The seat you'd fill
Lumuv turns YouTube into a client source for coaches, consultants and educators. Your job is to take what a founder knows and shape it into a video their ideal buyer watches to the end.
Every script starts with the angle: who the video is for, what it promises and why someone would click. Once the title and opening are agreed, you dig into the topic, get the founder talking about real cases, and build a structure that keeps people watching. The final draft should sound like the client on a good day, with b-roll and on-screen text already flagged for the editor.
A script isn't done when it's approved. It's done when the video is live and we can see what viewers did with it.
A small team that treats every channel like a business asset.
One team covers strategy, ideas, scripts, thumbnails, editing and optimisation, so nothing gets lost between freelancers. We grew Taekwondo Fury from under 10K to 100K subscribers in twelve months. Views matter, but the real scoreboard is the clients a channel brings in.
Remote, async by default, judged on output. Nobody watches your hours. Work when it suits you, hit the deadlines you commit to, and be reachable when a client draft is in review.
Premium over trendy
We'd rather make something a client is proud of in five years than chase this week's format. Craft and creative experiments beat copying whatever went viral.
Results, not tasks
"I did what the brief said" isn't the finish line. If the brief has a hole in it, raise it early and help close it.
Let the graph decide
Retention, click-through and booked calls end debates. Got an idea? Pitch it as an experiment and tell us what result would make it worth keeping.
Drafts get marked up
Every script gets line-by-line comments, from anyone, on anyone's work, including the founder's. It's how the bar stays high.
- Every script gets comments in Google Docs within 48 hours of delivery.
- A short async update each week: done, blocked, up next.
- A retention check on each of your videos once it's been live for a week.
- A monthly 1:1 with the team about results, rates and which channels you want next.
You'll do well here if
- You can sound like someone else on the page. Ghostwriting is most of this job.
- You've had long-form YouTube scripts published. Send us 3 of them.
- You've studied the retention curve on your own work and can explain why it dips where it does.
- Give you a business topic you've never touched, and by the next day you have a clear opinion on it.
- You enjoy getting a founder talking and spotting the story that makes the lesson stick.
- Your English writing is native-level: plain, punchy, no padding.
- Your deadlines are reliable, and so is the quality, whether it's your first script of the week or your fourth.
Where the work lives
Google Docs
Drafts, comments and sign-off all happen here.

YouTube Studio
Where you check how each of your videos actually held attention.
Zoom
Recorded founder interviews, transcribed so you can mine them later.
From brief to publish
- Find the angle. Agree the title, opening and promise with the strategist before any body copy gets written.
- Do the homework. Pull from the client's own numbers, primary sources and what competing channels already said, so the video adds something new.
- Get the founder talking. Short interviews to surface the cases, figures and opinions that make advice feel real.
- Hand over a ready-to-film draft. B-roll ideas, graphics and on-screen text marked right in the script.
- Close the loop. Check where viewers dropped off once the video is live, and carry that into the next script.
How you get paid
A rate per script
Set together on our first call, based on length, research depth and your track record.
More channels
Prove yourself on one client and you take on more channels, so your monthly volume grows with them, with the opportunity to join the team full-time.
Regular rate reviews
We revisit your rate in the monthly 1:1, looking at retention results and reliability.
Freelance to start. Other clients are fine, as long as Lumuv deadlines and quality hold.
The road ahead
Learn the house style
Pick up one client's voice and the way we structure scripts, with every draft reviewed line by line.
Run your channels
Become the writer a client relies on. Suggest the topics and help shape the calendar, not only the drafts.
Lead the writers' room
Review other writers' drafts, keep the voice guides sharp and steer the idea pipeline across all clients.
Probably not for you if
- You want a byline. Your name won't be on it and your voice shouldn't be in it. The founder's always comes first.
- Your background is blogs, ads or short-form only. Holding attention for 15 minutes is a different skill, and it's the core of this role.
- Analytics bore you. How a draft reads matters far less than how the published video performs.
- Research feels optional. Surface-level scripts lose viewers first, then clients.
- You need a guaranteed salary from day one. This starts as freelance, paid per script. A full-time seat is earned.
